Abandon Holmes Co.

The new program series continues started last year, this series explores the many fascinating places that have been forgotten or lost through the years. Some of our historical treasures still exist and our team is always exploring, photographing and presenting information on this sites. Some previous subjects covered in past programs were the courthouse clock tower, underground tunnels of the old jail, secret societies and lodges and more.    This yea’rs topics are the Millersburg Opera House, David White House, Johnathan Grant Burial Site and “Gone but not forgotten” the old theaters of Holmes Co. including rare photos of the Castle Theater, Russell Theater, Duncan theaters and more. Come and learn about these past treasures at the Holmes Co. Library on August 22 at 7:00pm in the lower level meeting room.  Our usual format will be brief presentations of the subjects and then open mic for audience to share what they might know about the Abandon Holmes Co.  The program is free however donations are always welcome to help the historical Society to continue providing quality programing.
