For those who are researching genealogy to learn more about their family history or interested in past events and local history, we have a historical research center complete with a newspaper collection dating back to 1845, which is digitized and searchable. Plus our research library is filled with the Pop Farber Collection—6,000 pages of local history from 1920-1960—and numerous books on local history.
The Holmes County Historical Society is a countywide 501C3, non profit organization dedicated to preserving, collecting and archiving the rich Holmes County history for future generations. The society's base of operation is the Historical Society campus located at 484 Wooster Rd. in Historic Millersburg, Ohio. The museum serves a dual function of exhibiting the county's historical collection and special exhibits as well as a showcase of Victorian living with self guided tours provided. We have old county newspapers archived and digitized dating back to 1845, along with a research library filled with the Pop Farver Collection—6,000 pages of local history from 1920-1960—and numerous books on local history.

The house is 7,000 square feet spread among 28 rooms on four floors. This showcase of Victorian living features many unique architectural design elements, such as a massive white oak staircase, custom-designed chandeliers, built-in sauna and steam room in the basement, and 96 windows.
The Glass Museum features the only public collection in the world of Millersburg Glass, which was only produced from 1909 to 1912—making the glass pieces very rare. In this historical museum, you’ll find 400 masterpieces cherished by collectors worldwide. Millersburg Glass was founded by a brother who was part of the renowned Fenton Art Glass Company.
The tours are self-guided so you can go at your own pace. Generally, plan on one hour for the Victorian House and half hour for the Glass Museum.
